Hey friends, have you ever seen a showroom like an art gallery, or ever imagined that a showroom can be like this?
If not, then see it because MG Motor India has done something like this through its new "First MG Select Dealership".
The first showroom opened in Thane, Maharashtra, will sell only luxury EVs - MG M9 MPV and Cyberster electric roadster.
And this is just the beginning. This new type of showroom, launched by MG Motor, is a premium retail format that will also help attract customers.
Unlike the standard MG showrooms, these Select showrooms will only retail top-tier EV models. And MG has announced that this is not the only outlet.
By September 2025, 13 additional MG Select showrooms are expected to open in major Indian cities.

Design and Experience: A First MG Select Dealership Setup.

The design of the first MG Select dealership resembles a modern art gallery. White-themed interiors and minimalist styling make the cars the central attraction in the showroom. These showrooms are located in Rosa Vista, Waghbil, Kavesar, Thane West, and you can visit them if you live near these places. Tejpal Motors handles the operations of this first outlet.
It redefines the dealership experience, just like Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa and Arena showrooms offer separate branding and experiences. MG Select will also operate in a parallel format, where there will be no regular MG models. Only premium offerings.
MG M9: Electric MPV With Business-Class Comfort.

The MG M9 made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, and the India-spec model has already been test-driven. Launch is expected in July 2025, i.e, this month itself. The exterior of this car feels quite boxy and sophisticated, including projector LED headlights and eyebrow-style LED DRLs. 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels and electric sliding doors add to its luxury appeal.
Talking about the interior, the car comes with a black-tan dual-tone dashboard that gets dual digital displays, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and a futuristic layout. There is a single-pane sunroof at the front and a panoramic sunroof at the rear for passenger comfort. This 6-seater MPV gets high-class features like massage, ventilation, and power-adjustment in the first and second row seats.
Even more premium touches like 3-zone automatic climate control, 64-colour ambient lighting system, and leather-wrapped surfaces turn the car into a moving lounge. Safety is also top-notch – multiple airbags, front-rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS suite are standard.
Battery setup is pretty solid too – a 90 kWh battery offers a claimed range of 548 km. The front-mounted electric motor produces 245 PS and 350 Nm, which strikes a perfect balance between performance and practicality.
MG Cyberster: India’s Most Affordable Electric Sports Car With Scissor Doors.

The biggest USP of MG’s Cyberster is its design and performance combo. It will be India’s most affordable scissor-door electric sports car. It can do 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. This car is made for road presence – petal-shaped LED DRLs, arrow-shaped tail lamps, LED lightbar, and of course, dramatic scissor doors are its highlights.
Inside, the cockpit-like interior gets a 4-screen layout. The driver gets two digital screens (10.25-inch and 7-inch), a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a separate screen just for AC controls. Bose speakers are installed for a sound experience, and an auto AC is also provided.
The Cyberster’s safety package is also impressive: 6 airbags, electronic parking brake with auto hold, all-wheel disc brakes, and Level-2 ADAS that includes smart features like lane keep assist and driver drowsiness detection.
The car is no less in terms of performance either – the dual motor setup produces 510 PS and 725 Nm. It gets a 77 kWh battery that provides a claimed range of 443 km. This package makes the Cyberster a true electric sports car.
Price: Most Affordable Yet Premium Electric Segment Entry.
The MG M9 is expected to be priced around Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a direct electric alternative to premium MPVs like the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival. As for the Cyberster, it is expected to be priced around Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be an electric rival to luxury sports cars like the BMW Z4.
Interestingly, MG could also offer both EVs via a Battery As A Service (BaaS) subscription model, which would significantly reduce their initial cost of ownership. This would make the model attractive for buyers who don’t want to pay the up-front battery cost.
Launch Timeline: Official Dates Awaited.

Although the India-spec version of the MG M9 has been driven, the official launch has not been announced yet. It is expected that this car will be launched by July 2025. Cyberster has also debuted in March 2024, but the exact launch date has not been revealed yet. But the showroom launch is a clear indication that both these cars will be available in the market soon.
Cities on the Map: Expanding MG Select Across India.
After Thane, MG is going to open such a premium MG Select Dealership in 13 more cities. These cities include – New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Kolkata, and Kochi. This means that the luxury electric experience will no longer be limited to metro cities, but will expand pan-India.
