Mahindra XEV 9e was till now available in 4 variants – Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three.
The first three variants of these come with a 59 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of up to 542 km on a single charge.
The top-spec Pack Three variant comes with a 79kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 656 km.
But now, a homologation document leak has revealed that Mahindra is going to offer the option of a 79 kWh battery in lower variants as well.
Apart from this, the top Pack Three variant will also get the option of a smaller 59 kWh battery.
The line-up of the new variants will be something like this:

This means that now both Pack Three Select and Pack Three variants will come with two different battery options. This move will give customers the freedom to choose the perfect variant according to their needs.

The Pack Three variant was the most premium and expensive till now, as it offered a 79kWh battery along with all the top-end features.
But now, when the smaller 59 kWh battery option is offered, its price will also come down, meaning it will now become a slightly budget-friendly option with high-end features.
However, with the 79 kWh battery option now available in the Pack Three Select, the range will increase, and customers will have a better choice for performance and long-distance travel.

With this variation, customers will be able to choose performance according to their driving pattern and budget – whether they want more power or more range, options for both will now be available.

The Mahindra XEV 9e price ranges from ₹23.17 Lakh to ₹33.28 Lakh on-road in Mumbai. But the top-spec Pack Three price is also likely to go down a bit with the new 59kWh variant, which will create even more value for buyers. With the new variants, every segment buyer will have a better fit.
Mahindra XEV 9e Launch Date in India: Updates Coming Soon.
The company has not yet announced an official date, but based on the homologation document, it is almost confirmed that these new variants will be launched in the Indian market very soon. We can expect the company to expand its EV portfolio and roll out this update by mid-2025.
