The TVS iQube was launched in 2020 and has made its name in the list of top-selling electric scooters. When it was first launched, its base variant had a 2.2 kWh battery.
But after that, TVS launched a bigger battery variant and removed the 2.2 kWh option. Now that the subsidy has almost ended and prices have also increased, TVS has again introduced the 2.2 kWh battery variant as an entry-level option, which is named TVS iQube 2.2.
The question is – is this 2.2 kWh variant practical for daily use, or is it just a budget compromise? So let’s see.

TVS iQube 2.2 Design and Features: Looks Basic, But is Practical.

There has been no major change in the design of the TVS iQube 2.2 in the last 5 years. It comes with a simple and boxy design, which is not easily noticed on the road. But the biggest plus point of this budget variant is that there has been no compromise in the features.
You get a 30-litre boot, park assist function, 650W fast charger, brake-lock clasp, colour TFT display, 75kph top speed, and front disc brake. All these features are available in the higher variants as well, so you get your money’s worth here.
Yes, the boot is slightly smaller than the 32-litre variant and the depth is less, making it difficult to fit a longer object.
There are a few things where TVS should have made some more improvements. Like:
- There should have been a multi-function ignition key slot like the Jupiter.
- Opening the boot with a dedicated key is quite inconvenient when you have a lot of stuff in your hands.
- After using Park Assist, the motor automatically shuts down, and to start it again, you have to press the brake and start button.
- There is also no feature to lock the charger, which is a bit disappointing. If this feature is available, then there will be no problem with open charging.
- To reset the trip meter, you only have to use the TVS app, which seems a bit unnecessary restriction.
TVS iQube 2.2 Ride and Handling: Easy and Comfortable Riding Experience.
As soon as you start driving the scooter TVS iQube 2.2, all the minor problems go into the background. The ride feel of the iQube is very smooth and feels like a petrol scooter – the only difference is that you don’t hear the engine noise.
With a weight of 110kg and a seat height of 770mm, this scooter is light and manageable, especially perfect for short riders. Taller riders also get a spacious riding posture, and the triangle of the seat feels perfect.
Two adults can sit comfortably on the seat. But if the rider is heavy, the seat padding will feel a bit soft, and after a continuous ride, the hard base starts to be felt.
Handling is also quite decent. The scooter feels agile in city traffic and remains stable even at high speeds. The suspension setup is quite soft and smooth, which makes even the roads of cities like Mumbai easily handled.
Braking is also good as there is a front disc brake. There is no hill-hold control, but the brake-lock clasp is helpful in parking on slopes.
TVS iQube 2.2 Performance and Efficiency: Practical and Reliable.

This TVS iQube 2.2 variant has a top speed of 75 km/h, which is slightly slower than the higher variants, but it never feels slow in the real world. Eco mode is also quite usable — you can easily ride flyovers with pills and even overtake traffic.
The max speed in Eco mode is up to 47 km/h. If you want more speed, you have to switch to Power mode. The scooter needs to slow down to change modes, around 45kph or even less.
The initial pickup may be slightly slower than competitors like the Ather Rizta, but in normal signals and city rides, the iQube comes out ahead.
The range indicator is quite accurate. What is shown on the screen is available. In testing, the iQube 2.2 gave a range of 76.4km in Eco mode, while the company claimed 75km.
Charging is also fast – a full charge with the 650W charger takes just 3 hours and 24 minutes. This combo – small battery and fast charger – is perfect for this variant, and makes it one of the fastest charging scooters on the market.
TVS iQube 2.2 Price in India and Final Conclusion: Quality Even on Budget.
If some UI issues and minor design flaws are left aside, then you can make the TVS iQube 2.2 yours at a price tag of Rs 1 lakh. Despite being a budget scooter, it does not feel cheap, and performance is also not compromised.
If your daily running is less than 50km and you have a secure charging setup at home, then this iQube variant can be a wise investment.
This TVS iQube 2.2 variant does not feel compromised from any angle, like some other budget e-scooters. It runs reliably after turning on the ignition every time, be it’s raining or sunny
